Established since 1962, Tampico is a restaurant offering traditional and Tex-Mex cuisine at moderate prices in a Hacienda style environment. Tampico's food is different than typical Mexican food in several ways. Our food is lighter, uses more mesquite grilling, and has a greater variety of tastes. On every plate there is typically three or four unique tastes. In general, our total menu takes Mexican food and uses modern cooking techniques seen in contemporary American restaurants. Words such as "freshness", "healthy", "grilling", "light", "colorful", and "unique ingredients" all help describe our food.
Our cantina offers the customer a hip, friendly, and lively environment. Our signature drink is our Tampico Margarita. Our margarita is hand made and hand shaken. It combines Sauza Giro Gold tequila, Cointreau, and Grand Marnier with our sweet and sour mix, creating a refreshing margarita that doesn't have the extreme tartness of other margaritas. We also offer an extensive list of tequilas, a full range of liquors, a wide variety of imported beers, and a small but excellent wine list. Our wine list features several wines by the glass. Our Happy Hour features hors d'oeuvres and a variety of salsas.
Tampico prices are moderate, resulting in our ability to offer our fine food for an excellent value. Our music is Latin Contemporary, and our decor projects a simple Mexican Hacienda look. Our overall atmosphere is South of the Border, informal, and high-energy.
